The Swiss Research Foundation for Electricity and Mobile Communication (FSM) is a non-profit-making foundation with the purpose of promoting scientific research into the chances and risks of radio and electric power technologies that produce and use electromagnetic fields. Further aims of the FSM are the publication of the results of this research in scientific organs and the dissemination of the research findings and specialist knowledge about electromagnetic fields within the broader community.
We offer both communication and research services. The communication services include providing information, imparting scientific knowledge, the organisation of events, leading presentations and compiling informative material. Amongst the research services we include research consultancy and supervision as well as the coordination and execution of research projects.
The FSM has been promoting research for fifteen years. In total we have invested over CHF 5 million in research support and thus played an important role in the acquisition of knowledge as well as the stimulation of academic talent in Switzerland and abroad. So far, 46 studies involving fundamental research, questions of social science or technical aspects of radio and electric power technologies in connection with ElectroMagnetic Fields (EMF) have been supported.
Call for proposals 2016: The FSM will support a study in the field of RF EMF research about recent and/or upcoming mobile communication signals (LTE, 5G, WiFi, etc.). Please find all details on the "Promotion" page. The deadline for submitting proposals was 14 November, 2016. More information on the project evaluation will follow in January 2017.
Anybody interested in technical, biological or health questions in respect of electromagnetic fields can inform themselves Knowledge pages. These pages have been prepared with the general public in mind.
