Contents

The meeting will introduce into the Research Cooperation (RC) “Sustainable Mobile Communication”. RC was initiated by diAx, a large Swiss supplier of mobile communication services. The mission of RC is to support innovative research on EMF risks attributed to cellular phone technology. RC is managed by the Laboratory for Electromagnetic Fields and Microwave Electronics of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, without control from the sponsor whatsoever.

The introductory part of the session will

  • give a brief history of the Research Cooperation and
  • present its research policy and funding structure

In the main part, the funded research projects will be presented and discussed. The projects are all university-based and contribute to the following topics of RF risk research

  • electromagnetic sensitivity
  • dosimetric measurement techniques
  • non-thermal mechanisms
  • risk-perception and risk-communication
