A commitment to the FSM is a sign that the sponsor takes account of the clarification of the effects of non-ionizing radiation and accepts its responsibility towards society, customers, employees and the industry as a whole. We distinguish between four groups of sponsors:

Founders

The founders have provided the initial capital for the foundation. The five founders of the FSM are: ETH Zurich, Swisscom, Salt, Sunrise, 3G Mobile (dissolved in 2011).

Supporters

Supporters back the Foundation non-materially or pay a regular amount towards the targeted funding of a specific activity, such as the organisation of the Science Brunches. The membership and representation of supporters on the Foundation Board is according to the Rules of Foundation.

The supporters of the FSM are: Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN), Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM), Federal Office of Energy (SFOE), Swiss Federal Inspectorate for Heavy Current Installations (ESTI), Swiss Conference of Directors of Building, Planning and Environmental Protection (BPUK), Conference of Cantonal Energy Directors (EnDK), Swiss Consumer Forum (kf), Swiss Cancer League (KLS), Swiss Heritage Society (SHS), Ingenieur Hospital Schweiz (IHS), Association of Swiss Electricity Companies (VSE), Swiss Academy of Engineering Sciences (SATW), Swiss Telecommunications Association (asut), Electrosuisse, Suissedigital, Swico, High Voltage Testing and Engineering Commission (FKH).
