Credibility of Expert Reports: The CORA Framework
This section is designed to help people without specialised scientific risk knowledge to judge the trustworthiness of a risk assessment Report with the help of the CORA framework. The framework does not aim at evlauating the scientific content of a report but informs about formal Content, authorship and processes associated with the report’s risk assessment activity. Such information helps non-experts to judge the credibility and trustworthiness of a document.
The CORA (Communicating Health Risk Assessments to the general public) reference system was developed by Working Group 5 (WG5) of COST Action BM0704 in 2011/2012. The following scientific paper informs about objective, rationale and limitation of the framework:
Wiedemann, P., Boerner, F., Dürrenberger, G., Estenberg, J., Kandel, S., van Rongen, E., Vogel, E. (2013). Supporting non-experts in judging the credibility of risk assessments. Science of the Total Environment, 463-464, 624-630.
